Raffles Hotel Bar & Billiard Room

What happened?! The standard over at my favourite buffet place has dropped so much. Things are not bad, just mediocre. But here at Raffles Hotel, they don't do mediocre. They shouldn't! I'm disappointed.

Imagine, what will those rich tourists staying in Raffles Hotel think of the food in Singapore after eating at Bar & Billiard Room? Doesn't quite do us justice! We're known to be the food nation of asia. And Raffles Hotel in Singapore being so known everywhere in the world is almost like an ambassador of Singapore (where hotels are concerned). So, people at Raffles Hotel, if you're reading this, please do something proud with your food quality and variety. It's Raffles Hotel we're talking about here. And people are paying more than $80/person for your buffet. I'm sure you can do better than that.

I was horrified to see brown melon balls (left in the open for too long) at the side of the parma ham. This is totally unacceptable!

But I was pretty impressed with this dessert creation. It's a mix of lychee and rose (syrup), creating this sweet but interesting bandung taste to it. An asian twist to a fancy looking dessert.

Kazu Sumi-yaki Restaurant

What do I do after a long Tuesday at work? Well, finding myself leaving the office at 8:45pm. I went to Kazu to have my tebasaki and Asahi beer fix! Soul-food... Kazu is one of my top 3 sumi-yaki place.

I was a little shocked to see partially raw chicken served on my table. It was then that I realised that I had ordered "seared" chicken with ponzu sauce. I had never taken raw chicken before, so it was my first time to have it slightly seared. Felt like I was eating seared tuna. Heh! Wasn't so bad. ;)
